What I keep, and what I don’t.

The short version

I keep what I need to build your site and send you a receipt. I don’t run ads, I don’t track you around the web, and I don’t sell or share your information with anyone for marketing. Ever.

What I collect, and when

When you book or buy. Payment goes through PayPal. PayPal sends me your name, the email address on your PayPal account, your business name and current site if you typed them in, and a note that you paid. PayPal does not send me your card number, and I never see it.

When you call or email. I keep what you tell me that I need for the job: your business name, your hours, your photos, your text, your phone number and email. That’s it.

When you ask to see your site first. The “See it first” box on the homepage asks for two things: your web address and your email. They reach me by email through Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, under its own privacy policy. I use them to build your preview and send you the link, and for nothing else. Nothing from that box is stored on this site.

When you just visit. This site has no tracking scripts, no analytics, and sets no cookies of its own. The company that hosts this site keeps ordinary server logs (the address your connection comes from, which pages loaded, and when), the way every host does. The fonts on this site come from Google’s font library, so when a page loads, your browser asks Google for the fonts, and Google sees the request. Google’s own privacy policy covers that.

What I do with it

Build your site, send you a receipt, answer your questions, and keep the records the tax people expect me to keep. I don’t send newsletters. If I ever email you about anything other than your own job, it’s because you asked me to.

Who else sees it

PayPal handles the payment and keeps its own records under its own privacy policy. The host keeps server logs. Web3Forms carries the “See it first” box to my inbox and keeps its own records under its own privacy policy. Nobody else. If a court ordered me to hand something over, I would, and that’s the only other case.

How long I keep it

Job records and receipts, seven years, because that’s what tax records call for. The photos and text you sent me for your site, for as long as I might need them to fix or rebuild it, or until you ask me to delete them.

Children

This site is for business owners. It isn’t meant for anyone under 18, and I don’t knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes.
